Chapter One

It was 2:00 Wednesday afternoon at Dunkirk Middle School. The students were in class.

Miss Green, the science teacher, was walking with her brother, an inventor, to the parking lot.

"Thanks," said Miss Green. "The kids really liked your speech."

"They had a lot of questions," he answered.

"They're smart kids."

"I've got to run,"Miss Green's brother told her. "I have to make my plane to Los Angeles."

A dark van rushed into the parking lot. Four men jumped out. They grabbed Miss Green and her brother and pulled them to the van. Miss Green's brother tried to call 911 on his cell phone, but one of the men took his phone and tossed it onto the blacktop.

The men pushed Miss Green and her brother into the van. They raced the van out of the parking lot into the street.

The cell phone was lying on the blacktop by the basketball hoop.

Chapter Two

I am a very lucky person. I had an amazing adventure. I was not alone. Five other kids from the sixth grade of Dunkirk Middle School were with me.

The six of us kids want to share our adventure with you. The other five kids chose me to write the story for all of us. I can't tell you which kid I am, but you can try to guess.

So here is the story of our amazing adventure....
